Token association and NFT approvals

Learn the difference between connecting a wallet, associating a Hedera token and approving an NFT spender. Check what each request allows.

Connecting a wallet, associating a token and approving a spender are different actions. Understanding the difference makes the requests in an NFT purchase easier to read.

Connecting your wallet

A wallet connection selects the account you use with SentX and allows the application to present requests. Check the connected account before buying, listing or opening DreamForge.

When you use several accounts, the NFT or HBAR you expect might be held in another one. Check the account ID rather than relying on the wallet's display name.

Associating a collection token

Association creates the relationship that lets a Hedera account hold a token type. For NFTs, that relationship is with the collection token, not a separate association for every serial.

An account with suitable automatic-association capacity can receive a new token type without a separate manual association step. Otherwise, the purchase or wallet flow can ask you to associate. Read and follow the requests presented for your account.

Association alone does not buy an NFT or authorize another account to spend one. Hedera's association reference explains the network operation.

Approving an NFT spender

An allowance gives a named spender permission over the NFTs covered by that approval. When SentX offers approval-scope choices for a listing, they appear as Approve this NFT only and Approve the whole collection. Availability depends on the listing type and the flow enabled for your account.

The whole-collection choice includes NFTs from that collection that you already own and subsequently acquire until the approval is revoked. Review the scope and spender rather than approving from habit.

If an NFT does not appear

First check the account and network. Then check the purchase or transfer result. If the transaction succeeded, compare the token ID and serial with the item you expect and allow the app's data view to update.

An image failing to load is different from an NFT missing from the account. Check an NFT's identifiers before assuming the transfer failed.

What to share with support

Send the public account ID, token ID, serial and transaction reference. Describe the request you approved and what the page currently shows. Keep recovery phrases and private keys private.
